“Some days just feel like forever, but suddenly they are gone“– 27th of May 2019
It is quite interesting how the same amount of time can feel so different in different seasons of life. Maybe it is just something crazy that happens as soon as you move to the other side of the globe.
Or maybe it actually is because these days are so different in so many ways, and time is one of the things that is included in that experience.
In college we have this beautiful thing called “The May break.” We left home with four different cars at 8 am in the morning, ready for a roadtrip further south. Almost everyone in my core joined it. What an adventure! Two well planned days filled with life lasting memories.
We had outdoor BBQ and walked along beautiful, Australian nature to do some cliff jumping. I got to see some rare birds, and feeling the whitest sand in the entire world slipping through my toes. Yes. I am literally speaking about the whitest sand in the world here. Apparently Jarvis bay is known for having the beach with the whitest sand in the world. I had to google it to be sure that it was not just these Australians bragging about their country for fun again. It turned out to be true. And It was amazing. Truly amazing. We also did combat hunting and an attempt to go looking for kangaroos without any luck … Late night pasta bolognese, and good conversations around the bond fire. I am so blessed that get to hang out with these amazing people and discover Australia. How lucky am I ?!
A grey blanket rests over my feet, and I am holding tight on to my hot water bottle. So many cups of tea and a never ending craving for hot soup. I would never imagine that this is how winter is in Australia. But it is. So insane, extremely cold. But it is actually quite cozy and nice as well. It feels like forever since the last time I wrote to you. I can not believe I have been here for over four and a half months now. I feel like I say this every single time. But can you believe it is June in full bloom already? And can you believe June belongs to winter? Just a few more weeks until my mum comes for a visit. I am so excited to show her my city. But hey. I promise you. If you want your life to run from you, just move to Australia. Time just feel so different here. I am sure it is existing by different laws than back home.
